It was fabulous to see 110 volunteers at our annual Volunteers’ Christmas Dinner on Tuesday, 5th December and a great pleasure for staff and Trustees to provide and serve a wonderful meal to say ‘Thank You’ for all the time, effort, patience and smiles volunteers put into activities and services at John Storer House and Shepshed Volunteer Centre over the year.
The Catering Team once again worked miracles and there were many compliments on the beautiful meal. Volunteers chatted in their teams or with others they had only just met, finding out about the many and varied roles and tasks undertaken by JSC volunteers.
The Quiz was very popular on most tables and we’ve included answers to the two Picture Rounds which can be found at the back of the Newsletter. Of the entries collected afterwards, ‘A Bridge Too Far’ and ‘Santa’s Little Helpers’ were the joint winners with a score of 27/40 each. Well done also to ‘Team Andrew ‘and ‘9+1’ who both scored 23/40.
Finally, there was entertainment – of a sort!
From the carol-singing staff with Father Toghill Christmas throwing snowballs. Thank you for a wonderful evening – we look forward to seeing you all again in 2018!
