Aldi chose John Storer Charnwood to receive their Christmas surplus food donation from their new store at Grange park in Loughborough.
We arrived after closing time on Christmas Eve to collect what we thought would be a generous yet nominal donation but instead found what can only be described as a turkey and bread mountain!
After a few minutes of panic, we gathered ourselves and rang around a few other charities and then set about delivering the food. Donations were gratefully received by The Falcon Centre and Minnie’s Kitchen, Shepshed Food Bank, the Carpenter’s Arms, Salvation Army and ourselves. We would like to thank Aldi and pass on to them the thanks from the many people who will have benefitted from their Christmas Scheme.
