Contact the Elderly is a national charity dedicated to tackling social isolation through free monthly tea party groups on a Sunday afternoon in volunteer host’s homes. Older guests get collected from their home by a volunteer driver, taken to the afternoon tea and then returned home. The group of volunteer drivers and guests is the same each month, meaning that over time some lovely friendships develop. The service is free and drivers are criminal record and reference checked, and the group is overseen by a group coordinator.
