‘Fabulous’ choir brings disabled people together

John Storer on the TV!

Many of you will know of the John Storer House choir that meets once a week at the Christchurch Church Hall in Shepshed.

The choir welcomes all ages and abilities and includes those wit learning disabilities, dementia and Downs Syndrome.

We were pleased to welcome the Central News cameras into a session a few weeks ago and our own Angie Whitmore was interviewed!

“Everyone mixing together makes it a real nice atmosphere,” she said.
“It’s fabulous having everyone at different levels and enjoying themselves. People come here to be in a social environment, they get to sing with their friends, enjoy a good song, they stand up and perform in front of their friends and peers and just really let their hair down.”
