The next meeting is on 13th February at 2.00 pm when the speaker will be Celia Sanger. Celia has entitled her talk ‘Calke Gardens – The Changing Seasons’. Calke Abbey is a National Trust property on the Derbyshire/Leicestershire border and, because it is close by, will have been visited by local people mostly in the summer. However as the gardens change throughout the year it will be interesting to see them at every season.
At our January meeting Karen Gimson gave a very interesting and amusing talk about her life as a garden designer. Karen visits many large properties and discusses various projects with the owners and the head gardeners and schemes are planned. She is very much involved with Rainbows and donated her fee to Rainbows charity.
New members and visitors are always welcome. If you have an interest in gardens visit us at the next meeting or call John Storer Charnwood on 01509 631750 for more information.
