Graham Pierce gave an excellent talk at the April meeting of the JSH Gardening Club. His illustrated talk entitled ‘The Rose Family of Trees’ led us from the Flowering cherries and plums through to medlars and quinces. Not only do these trees give us early flowers but many follow with berries and Autumn leaf colour.
A visit to ‘Purelands’ nr. Newark is fixed for May and a day trip to Trentham Gardens is arranged for Thursday 14th June. A few seats are still available for this visit.
