JOHN STORER – AGM

The John Storer Charnwood and John Storer House Foundation Joint AGM took place again this year in the Jubilee Room on Monday, 13 November, at 3pm. The subject matter of this year’s AGM was ‘Taking Care of What Matters’ with special reference to the new John Storer Charnwood website and our place within the wider VCS.

After their marvellous performance at the AGM last year, the Community Life Choice JSC Choir had again been invited to perform a medley of songs. This year their songbook included, ‘Hey Big Spender’, the ‘Lambeth Walk’, ‘We’ll Meet Again’ and ended with a rousing rendition of ‘Sweet Caroline’.

Mr Patel then introduced the Sathi Group dancers who performed a colourful and lively Garba dance which celebrates Navratri (a nine night Hindu festival).

The performances followed the more formal requirements of the meeting. At the end of the meeting David Rodgers’ retirement from the JSC Joint Board of Trustees was acknowledged.  Sandy Leong, the Joint Chair of Trustees, wished on behalf of everyone involved in the organisation to acknowledge and celebrate David’s 27 years as a volunteer for the organisation. Sandy said that David would be ‘greatly missed’ and praised his wisdom and wealth of knowledge that he had brought to John Storer Charnwood over the years and wished him well in his retirement from the Board.  He was then presented with gifts and a card.

Sandy thanked everyone who contributed to our Showcase of Talent.
