Our volunteers

Volunteers help in all aspects of our work including catering, transport, the Welcome desk, well-being activities, at our allotments, in Your Store, governance, fundraising and administration.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life. We aim to be an inclusive, safe and friendly place to volunteer.

Volunteering is a great way to build your skills and experience. You can make new friends, gain confidence, have a sense of purpose and feel needed. You can give something back or try something new.

New Volunteer Roles

Thinking of becoming a volunteer?

Benefits of volunteering with us We offer:
  • Free training relevant to your role, and an induction
  • Support from Louise, our Volunteer Coordinator
  • A sense of purpose as you help other people in your community
  • A reference if needed, when you leave us
  • An invitation to two volunteer ‘Thank You’ events a year
What you may need to know. If you are on benefits, you can still volunteer. There are some rules that benefit claimants need to be aware of, to make sure that volunteering doesn’t have an impact on the benefits they receive. You can find out more here: Volunteering and benefits | NCVO.
